Creating campaigns requires only a few minutes and a smidge of creativity. 🧑🎨📱 Not all campaigns are created equally. The most successful campaigns we've seen incorporate certain key elements to ensure effectiveness and engagement while keeping account holder experience as the main focus. Here are the essentials for campaign best practices:
Timing, Scheduling, and Frequency
- Avoid Campaign Overlap: If running multiple campaigns, schedule your campaign nudges for different days of the week to avoid nudge overlap. *Capping limits will protect account holders if overlap does occur.
- Campaign Frequency: Limit your campaigns to 1-2 monthly for broad campaigns sent to all recipients. You can run 2-4 monthly campaigns if you segment your audience; just be mindful of account holder overlap.
- Avoid "Single Day" nudges: If you are trying to force delivery of a certain campaign nudge to a specific date, you are likely better off using an Alert nudge instead. The "spirit" of the Days of the Week delivery detail is to limit the nudge to just weekdays, just weekends, or possibly the days of the week a branch is open (and similar use cases).
Being overly restrictive with delivery details can result in unexpected delays in sending nudges. See our FAQ article, Why didn't my campaign nudge get delivered on the day I expected it to? for more details.

Measure, Adjust, and Campaign Must-Haves
Review your campaigns' performance regularly. Use analytics to understand what works and what doesn’t. Adjust your strategies accordingly to improve your campaign effectiveness continuously, and always ensure you keep our campaign must-haves in mind:
- Relevance: Always ensure your nudge messages are relevant to the recipients selected. Personalized and relevant content resonates more with recipients and can increase engagement rates.
- Clear Call to Action: Every nudge should include a clear call to action. Whether it’s to sign up for a service, take advantage of a promotion, or visit a website, the next steps should be easy to understand and follow.
- UTM Codes: Use UTM tracking codes to monitor the performance of your campaigns. Learn more about UTM tracking codes here.
