Locations are where it's at!
Nudge® uses locations to help trigger selected notifications for your account holders. When setting up locations for a geolocation-based nudge®, it is important to select the appropriate location(s) and radius for that specific nudge®.
For example: if you set up nudge® to promote your awesome auto loan rates, you will want your account holders to receive that message at the right time and place. The right time and place to have your account holders receive that auto loan nudge® would be at a local car dealership! For this nudge®, you could create locations for the auto dealerships in the area and then select those locations when setting up your nudge®. Your account holders will then receive that nudge® when shopping for a new car at those car dealerships. It's that easy!

In addition to selecting the location(s) when creating a geolocation-based nudge®, you also select how close your account holder needs to be for the notification to be triggered. The radius is the approximate distance from the location's physical position which defines that boundary. In the portal there are several options to choose from when selecting the radius. As a helpful scale for reference, "1 block" is approximately 125 meters.
For larger locations, like a bigger car dealership for the example above, or perhaps a park where you are promoting a community event, you will likely want to select a 3 or 5 block radius. This will cover any additional entrances that someone might use when arriving at that larger location. But if your nudge® is intended to deliver details about a branch in a downtown area, you might choose the 1 block option to be more selective.
For a much larger space, like a college campus for example, you likely will need to create more than one location to ensure you have full coverage for a single nudge®.
Is there too much of a good thing? Nope!
Regardless of how many locations you add for a given nudge®, an account holder will only receive the notification at most once in any 24-hour period for a specific nudge®, even if they visit more than one of the locations in that time period. In other words, feel free to add several locations, if appropriate, in order to create the coverage you need, without fear of over-messaging your account holders.
