As detailed in our latest Product Bulletin, we’ve been preparing for the latest mobile OS releases from Google and Apple.
Android 14 update
We are pleased to announce an update to our Android libraries for compatibility with Android 14. Unlike last year, this year's Android update was fairly simple regarding the changes required for nudge to function properly. These changes relate only to certain permission declarations. The update is only necessary if you are building an app specifically targeting Android 14 (SDK/API level 34).
Full integration documentation is available here. For existing integrations, the only update required to utilize this new library is a change in the build.gradle file version to reference `3.3.0` for our original library, `1.3.0` for our non-location nudge Base library, or `1.1.0` for our nudge Geo library. There are no changes to any code-related calls or parameters.
iOS 17 update
After thorough analysis and testing, we determined that no changes were immediately required for apps running on iOS 17 that include our libraries. However, there is an upcoming requirement from Apple regarding additional Privacy Manifest declarations that will roll out starting this fall, and become required in spring 2024. You can read more about this here. As such, we have proactively released a library update (v2.0.6) that meets those requirements. Updating the version reference in your Podfile is all that's required.
