Announcing the new nudge® Geo library

Earlier this year we announced the release of nudge® Base. This version of our library is specifically designed for implementations where a client doesn’t require location-based messaging. By removing the location-sharing element of the library, the actual app store submission process becomes more streamlined.

In order to better encapsulate and isolate relevant functionality in our libraries, we now provide location-based functionality in our new nudge Geo library. Together, nudge Base + nudge Geo provide the same functionality as our legacy nudge library, but allow for a more scalable architecture moving forward.

We recommend that all new integrations use the nudge Base + nudge Geo approach. It involves an almost identical integration process as the original library integration and will ensure future compatibility as we evolve the libraries. Our full integration documentation is available here, and we have a specific guide for migrating an existing integration to the new architecture here. Our classic nudge library will remain supported through 2023. We will be sure to give plenty of advance notice when the library will be decommissioned, likely early in 2024.
