nudge® code library update
Earlier this year we released Version 2.0 of the nudge® code library. The main focus of the release was to implement a prominent in-app disclosure regarding privacy details and benefits to the user before prompting them to grant access to location information. This is now required on Android for inclusion in the Google Play store, and is also best-practice for iOS, where it also helps drive overall adoption by end-users.
If you haven't already done so, we strongly encourage you to implement this nudge® library update on both the Android and iPhone versions of your mobile banking applications.
We are happy to work with your software engineers to implement the new library, which only involves a few minor changes in your code from previous versions of our library.
Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework
There's definitely been a lot of confusion related to this recently! So much so that we published a quick FAQ article that essentially says, no, Larky doesn't use this! Yes, we do request background location permission, but this is a separate permission from the one targeted by this new policy.
Near-term initiatives
Driven by client demand, we are continuing to build out capabilities within the nudge® platform around segmentation to enable more precise and targeted messaging. This quarter we are developing an MVP around this that will allow FI clients to fine-tune follow-up messaging to recipients who have engaged in previous campaigns, as well as target those account holders who have not previously responded to messaging efforts, in order to keep the FI top-of-mind for those individuals.
Coming later in 2021
The next evolution for segmentation is to connect the nudge® platform directly to the back-end systems delivered by our mobile and digital banking application partners. We’re excited to continue working with you to develop this important functionality for our clients, and create greater product value. This integration will unlock the ability to use data from other systems to create highly-targeted audience segments for FI clients, enabling them to continue "enriching the moment" for their account holders.
We are in process with several partners to build this integration, and look forward to beginning discussions with other partners very soon. Feel free to contact us if you have a client who requires this capability right away.
