We are pleased to announce a minor update (v2.0.1) to last month's v2.0 release, supporting apps targeting the latest version of the Android 11 OS (API level 30). For Android apps targeting Android 10 (SDK level 29), the v2.0 library remains available. Both library versions include the same performance and security enhancements.
The only difference is in the way in which we prompt for background location. This now conforms to Android 11's required flow; it is a 2-step process, first prompting for foreground location permission, and then later prompting for background location permission.
In terms of integration, the only difference is referencing the appropriate library version in your app's build.gradle file. This is documented in the nudge® Code Library for Android Integration Guide.
This does not impact the library for iOS apps; the latest version there remains v2.0.
